For this draping final, my professor assigned each student to recreate a designer dress, and I was given Stella McCartney’s Tiger Print Puff Sleeve Midi Dress. The design features a Dolman-style kimono silhouette with a handkerchief skirt. Since the original is made from a stretch fabric, I added darts to my drape to achieve a similar fitted look, but using a woven fabric instead. I chose Mood Fabric’s Linen and Rayon Woven in Beige and Brown Snakeskin to give it a unique twist. While I wanted to retain the original’s animal print charm, I aimed to make the design feel more personal.
